Army: Michie Stadium

West Point was a pretty awe inspiring experience. At the point of sounding cliche to the September 12th Generation (what?), it would be difficult to leave the Military Academy without feeling a little pride in your country. Outside of patriotic fervor, the facilities that we are providing for our young men on the Army Football team are top class. We were escorted around by a couple of cadets who showed us the ins and outs of what it is to be both growing as a team in the Army, as well as in the weight room and on the football field. The guys just got a new upgrade to that weight room, as well as an indoor practice facility when the weather gets dicey in the hills outside New York City. One of the coaches, Gabe who I think may be strength and conditioning, was also willing to let us check out the new digs in the weight room. The new squat record for Linebackers was set by one of our guides, Cadet John Plumstead, this last year. The setting was right up there with the best of the best that I have seen, and as soon as I get around to having Shawn type up something about his experience, he can add wit and excitement that I simply fail to do.
