Pittsburgh: Heinz Field

The Pitt Panthers abandoned their on campus field, Pitt Stadium, after the 1999 season to play where the Steelers play. That, today, is Heinz Field located in downtown Pittsburgh. The field was all ready to go for Pitt's Spring Game happening this Saturday, and it wasn't as locked down as I had initially thought it would be. The guy at the team shop seemed to think that I would need to ask permission from the office, but I was pretty excited to open the gate up and simply waltz in and right onto the field. I still think, though, that it is really lame to co-opt a pro team's field. So take that Pitt.
